Zot is an electroporator designed to simplify as much as possible the already complex laboratory activities, aimed at breaking the cell membrane to genetically modify its contents. In fact, it has some features that differentiate it from competitors:
- Small size and weight to allow easy placement in the work environment.
- Chamber connection control, able to recognize with great reliability whether a chamber, with the suspension liquid, is connected or not.
- Possibility of using or not pre-conditioning phases capable of arranging the cells automatically.
- Possibility of using the pedal to end the pre-conditioning phase when the pedal is released, thus extending the time set in the recipe, until necessary.
- EasyZOT application on Mac or Windows PC and on WEB to easily and in a guided way program recipes, suitable for different fusion chamber situations or cell type. Both on PC and on the Web, the user has a database where recipes are stored, with no limit on the number of recipes.
- Use of SDCard to store a user library associated with a researcher. Each user library can contain up to 99 recipes. An unlimited number of user libraries can be created using the EasyZOT application.
- Color TFT display for choosing the recipe within the user library and for checking its parameters.
- Rotary encoder for an efficient alternative to bulky and less reliable keyboards.
- LEDs for an intuitive and quick check of the status of the poration cycle.
- Buzzer with high volume that signals the most significant states with different beep modes, since the User is normally engaged in observing the poration process under the microscope.
- Oscilloscope connection socked for the analysis of the electrical stimulus, generated by the recipe.
